How Scientology Changed My Life

"For Lori Hodgson (twitter.com/lori_hodgson - https://twitter.com/lori_hodgson ), breaking from the Scientology church after 30 years has meant breaking from her two adult children, Jessica and Jeremy.  "Scientology has a cruel disconnection policy that destroys families; it is going on five years now that I've been kept apart from my children, and I miss them terribly," Hodgson says.  "If I knew back when I joined Scientology at age 13 that, if one day I chose to leave I would lose my children, I would have never participated in such a heartless organization."  Hodgson fought against Scientology to keep her children in their accredited schools, so they could get a proper education. The church wanted something different, she says, to take her then minor children from her and dedicate their lives to serving Scientology.  ...  By speaking out, Hodgson hopes her voice will ultimately reach her children. ... "Every day I dream about picking up the phone and asking my children, 'How are you? How is your day going?' " she says. "I'm being robbed of a life with my own children because of Scientology."
